(Bridal bouquet) The floral arrangement carried by the bride in the ceremony and often later tossed over her shoulder to single guests at the reception. Bouquets come in many different styles, such as "beidermeier" and "cascade."

Sunflowers (original title, in French: Tournesols) are the subject of two series of still life paintings by the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh.

A tall North American plant of the daisy family, with very large golden-rayed flowers. Sunflowers are cultivated for their edible seeds, which are an important source of oil for cooking and margarine

Potpourri Infused Polymer Clay Faux Handmade Paper Wedding Invitation

This polymer clay piece commemorates my parents' 1958 wedding invitation. I created it using an image transfer of their original wedding invitation, which my mother hand-tinted to show the church where they were married and one of the orchids from her bridal bouquet.

The transfer was made to a Pearl metallic clay base infused with potpourri composed of French Lavender, Sunflower petals, Mauve Pink Bouton rosebud petals, red rose petals, and Egyptian Chamomile buds. The bottom layer is translucent clay tinted with alcohol ink in a lavender color and infused with the potpouri.

This piece is my entry in the March PCAGOE challenge, the theme of which is "Texture".

Jo & Alex's Wedding

Had the pleasure of photographing Jo and Alex's wedding day. The ceremony was held at Kings Park, at the Old Tea Pavillion. The bride arrived in a white and purple Dodge Hot Rod, with a summery sunflower bouquet.
After the ceremony we got some group shots under the Morton Bay Fig, then the guests departed by charter bus so Jo and Alex and I could take a walk around the park and visit some of the spectacular locations.
Eventually we headed to Mends St Jetty so Jo and Alex could board the PS Decoy for the reception.
